The honest answer? Yes, you can resize some rings. But for others, resizing will ruin the jewelry. It all depends on how the ring was designed in the first place.

The Difference Between Simple Bands and Eternity Rings
If your ring is a simple metal band, or if it only has diamonds on the top half, you are safe. A good jeweler can easily cut the metal, add or remove gold, and change the size one or two steps up or down. The ring stays strong and comfortable.
But if your ring is a full eternity band—meaning it has diamonds going all the way around your finger—resizing is a major problem.
What Usually Goes Wrong in the Market
Many jewelers will try to force an eternity band to stretch to a new size. This is a bad idea. When you stretch or bend a ring covered in diamonds, you change the angle of the metal.
This puts bad pressure on the prongs holding the stones. The exact spacing gets ruined. The prongs loosen, and soon, the diamonds start falling out. A small misalignment hurts the long-term life of the whole ring.
What to Do If Your Eternity Ring Does Not Fit
If your eternity ring is too tight or too loose, do not let anyone bend it. Here is the right way to fix it:
